Drive 2.2 - Animation Toolkit for Houdini

Drive is an animation toolkit to quickly and procedurally animate any parameter without manual keyframes. It consist of three nodes where the “Output” parameters in every node can drive any other parameter. They all have preview options to easily preview the animation over time.

The heart of the system is a layer based approach where each layer is either an animation layer or a modifier layer. Think Photoshop but for animation.

• Speed up your animation workflow. No need to set keyframes. Set the start frame and the range, edit the ramp parameters and just copy the output parameter and paste on any parameter in your network that you'd like to animate. Easily create looped or Ping-Pong animations with a few clicks.
• Animate to a song or beat. "Sequencer" layer lets you set up complex animation in no time at all. It consists of a step sequencer with animation curves, division lengths and a Humanizer so you can easily create synced animations to a song or a beat in no time at all! You can of course layer several sequencers on top of each other to create complex rhythms.
• Custom Modifier Layers. Jiggle, Lag, Smooth, Quantizer and Remapper are all custom written vex modifier layers.
• Time Offsets and Speed Modifications per point can easily be made with the new Drive Offset node. Control the offset or speed by index/id or a mask attribute on the incoming geometry.
• Be creative. Since there is no set keyframes there's a lot of room for creative decisions in the moment and much quicker iteration speeds, rather than editing keyframes.

• Drive - A layer based Animation Engine. Animation layers, custom vex modifiers, advanced per-layer masks.
• Drive Mixer - Combine several “Drive" outputs with different blending options and modifiers to further layer animation.
• Drive Offset - Easily apply time offsets and/or speed changes to the drive animation over thousands of points in real-time.
